Everybody wondered why Farrah Fawcett was left off the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the 82nd Academy Awards.
The official answer coming from the executive director of the film academy was: because she was better known as a television actress! Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences executive director Bruce Davis told the Associated Press that Fawcett was better known for her “remarkable television work”. So she will most surely receive an award from the television academy at the Emmy Awards since The Academy Awards recognizes achievement in movies. “In every category, you’re going to miss some wonderful people”, he added.
Now the question is why Michael Jackson was included when actors were left out. Davis had an answer to this question too saying that Jackson had appeared in ‘This is It’ theatrical film. Oh, come on!
Both Fawcett and Jackson died on June 25, 2009.
