Whitney Houston‘s death has caused controversy and has divided her family over where she should be buried.
According to TMZ, Dionne Warwick, Whitney’s cousin, and Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mother wanted the singer to be laid to rest in Atlanta because it’s the place she most loved. The rest of the family wanted the burial to take place in Newark, where she was born.
“Michael Jackson did not want to be buried in New Jersey, and Whitney did not want to be buried in New Jersey”, Cissy said.
In the end, Cissy and Dionne were convinced to bury Whitney in New Jersey.
The burial will take place on Saturady, February 18.
