Viola Davis went wigless  at the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon. The reason? 

“My husband (actor Julian Tennon) wanted me to take the wig off. He said, ‘If you want to wear it for your career, that’s fine, but in your life wear your hair. Step into who you are!’ It’s a powerful statement”, the 46-year-old actress told In Style.
But it’s not only Julian who wants her au naturel. The couple’s 18-month-old adopted daughter Genesis  “had to get used to me because black girls, sometimes we wear wigs and weaves. The first time I took my wig off with her, she was like, ‘Nooo!’ She literally did that”, the actress said.
Viola is nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards for her role in ‘The Help’.
