Toni Braxton hospitalized
Toni Braxton has been hospitalized. The singer was checked into hospital in Los Angeles because of “minor health issues” related to Lupus. The singer herself gave her fans the information via Twitter on Friday, December 7. “But no worries. I will be out any day now”, she said. Her representative confirmed the hospitalization.
Two years ago Braxton revealed she had Lupus and a narrowing of the blood vessels in her heart. The 45-year-old singer said her uncle has died due to Lupus.
In a recent interview with ’20/20′ the singer said that doctors told her the Lupus diagnosis meant her performing career would likely be diminished.
According to wikipedia, Lupus, is a systemic autoimmune disease that can affect any part of the body. As occurs in other autoimmune diseases, the immune system attacks the body’s cells and tissue, resulting in inflammation and tissue damage.
During her career, Braxton has won six Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and five Billboard Music Awards and has sold over 60 million records worldwide.
Braxton married Keri Lewis in 2001. The couple have two sons: 11-year-old Denim Cole and 9-year-old Diezel Ky ( diagnosed with autism). Braxton and Lewis separated in 2009.
