Spice Girls reunite for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony
Spice up your life in London! The Spice Girls have confirmed: they will perform for the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.
Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown and Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham are back! They will hit the stage alongside George Michael, The Who, Take That and Jessie J on Sunday, August 12.
This is the first time when the former Spice Girls perform together since their previous reunion in 2008.
“I love the other girls. We have some fantastic fans. I don’t know about a comeback tour but I loved being back with the girls. Who knows maybe some day we’ll do something else with the Spice Girls. If they’re up for something then I certainly am. I would love nothing more”, Victoria said during a recent radio interview.
As for the closing night, one thing is for sure: they will be performing heir 1996 smash-hit single ‘Wannabe’.
