Sean Lennon’s Remake of Yoko Ono and John Lennon Iconic Photo

Yoko Ono and John Lennon

What could be your first thought after seeing your parents naked on the cover of a magazine in one odd position?
Sean Lennon’s though was to do the same! Sean, son of Yoko Ono and John Lennon got inspired by his parents’ photo made in order to promote the release of ‘Double Fantasy’, Ono and Lennon’s first album together in five years.

The photo was shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz on December 8, 1980, the same day the former Beatles was assassinated outside his New York City apartment building, by lone Mark David Chapman.
Then, on January 22, 1981, the photo appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone’s commemorative issue to John Lennon.
The original photo shows Yoko Ono dressed, while John was naked. The remake of this photo, made by their son, Sean, is the opposite of it, showing him dressed and his girlfriend, Kemp Muhl naked. The picture will appear in the Fall issue of Purple Magazine and it was made by  Terry Richardson.

According to TMZ.com, Leibovitz, who took the last photo of John Lennon before he was assassinated, is facing huge financial problem. It turns out that if she doesn’t pay back a $24 million loan this week, she’ll lose the rights to every big photo she’s ever taken, including controversial Miley Cyrus photo, the pregnant Demi Moore Vanity Fair cover, the cover of Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born to Run’ and so on.
