Sammi Kane Kraft dies
Sammi Kane Kraft dies at the age of 20. The baseball player who played in the 2005 remake of ‘Bad News Bears’ was involved in a fatal car accident.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Kraft died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday morning, October 11.
Kraft was a passenger in an Audi that was speeding down the 10 Freeway in LA at about 1:30 a.m. The car she was in was rear-ended by a large truck. Then it got hit by another car.
The Audi’s driver, Molly Kate Adams survived the accident and was arrested on suspicion of DUI. No one else passed away after the accident.
Kraft played pitcher Amanda Whurlitzer, the character made famous by Tatum O’Neal in the 1976 original film. “I could never fill Tatum O’Neal’s shoes but I tried to make the role my own. I added a bit of the New York in me. A little toughness, a little bit of smart-ass”, Kraft told the New York Daily News in 2005.
