Royal couple wins battle against French magazine
Kate Middleton and Prince William won big battle against Closer magazine. A French court ruled in favor of the royal couple on Tuesday, September 18 in their case against the French magazine.
Closer published private photos of Kate.
According to the court, Closer is not allowed to publish more photos of Kate and William. They also have to remove the topless pics from their website. The photos can not be published in any other magazines or newspapers in France. Also, the photos cannot be sold anywhere else in the world. And most important, the photos must be handed over to the Palace by midday Wednesday, September 19.
In case Close would publish more photos, the magazine will be fined 10,000 euros per incident. The royals will also be paid 2,000 euros for legal fees.
During the court hiring, French lawyer Aurelien Hammelle argued that Kate is “a young woman, not an object”. The photos were taken during the couple’s private holiday in the South of France earlier this month.
