Philip Seymour Hoffman died of drug overdose at 46
Shocking news from Hollywood! Philip Seymour Hoffman is dead! The 46-year-old actor was found dead in his Manhattan apartment in the West Village on February 1 at 11:30 a.m.
According to The New York Post, Hoffman died of a drug overdose. “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Please keep Phil in your thoughts and prayers”, his family said in a statement.
In May 2013, the Oscar winner entered rehab for a 10-day stint. Previously he had been sober for 23 years.
Hoffman has three children (daughters Tallulah and Willa and son Cooper) with costume designer Mimi O’Donnell.
He won the 2006 Oscar for Best Actor for his lead role in ‘Capote’. The actor was currently filming the final installment of the ‘Hunger Games’ series.
