Luckily Motley Crue rocker Nikki Sixx and TV tattoo artist Kat Von D only inked their bodies and not some marriage papers because the  couple split up after dating for three years.
“I want to wish Katherine (Kat Von D) nothing but the best in her life. She has loved and inspired the hell outta me and I know I have done the same for her in these almost two years we ruled the earth together. We are taking a break from our relationship for reasons that we will choose to keep personal. You won’t find me saying a bad word about her and I don’t believe vice versa… we have too much wonderful history together to ever deface that”, Sixx wrote on a statement posted on his website.
The two of them started dating in 2007 after Von D’ broke up with tattooist Oliver Peck.

Actually, that's not exactly accurate. She dated the late Roy Orbison's son (who is credited with helping her to kick her alleged alcohol abuse problem) right after Oliver Peck (to whom she was married). Mr. Orbision broke off their relationship and then she began dating Mr. Sixx.
