Nicole Richie turned 31 on Friday, September 21. On her birthday, long time friend Kim Kardashian gave her the sweetest gift ever. The socialite shared an adorable, duck-face filled photo from Richie’s 1995 birthday celebration.

“Happy birthday to my friend Nicole Richie. Many of you may not know that we’ve known each other for many years. I found this pic of us at Nicole’s 14th birthday party! Awww, the memories”, 31-year-old Kim wrote along with the photo. “Happy birthday Nikki! Xo”, Kanye West’s girlfriend added.

So far, Nicole hasn’t responded to to Kim. Yet, she took Twitter on Friday afternoon to thank her fans for their wishes. “THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes!!I feel so much wiser. Oh 30-year-olds, they’re so silly . . . “, she wrote.

Richie began dating Good Charlotte lead singer Joel Madden in December 2006 They have two children, 4-year-old daughter Harlow Winter Kate and 3-year-old son Sparrow James Midnight. The couple confirmed their engagement in February 2010 and married on December 11, 2010.
