Miley Cyrus 'Can't Be Tamed' album cover

A very nasty video and the same kind of lyrics for Miley Cyrus’ song! The lyrics are explicit and the video is very controversial. The 17 years old singer/actress left her Hannah Montana character behind and became a real woman.
The album will be released this June 22.

If you ask for our opinion, she tries too hard to appear seductive. Let’s just hope her new attitude won’t attract as many fans as Hannah Montana did.

But now, with "Can't Be Tamed", she's turning into Britney Spears, which isn't all that bad. Britney was catchy and popular in her day. The question is not whether Miley is beautiful or not (she is), whether the song is catchy or not (it is) or whether Miley can sing or not (even those who are strongly critical of her voice, she CAN sing.). She is only seventeen years old. She's mirroring women (i.e., Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Beyonce) who have actually had life experience and are mature enough to decide whether to sexually exploit themselves to the masses or not. People keep arguing that sex sells, and Miley is simply jumping on the bandwagon. While it's true, sex does indeed sell, becoming a promiscuous idol of sexuality isn't necessary to have a successful career. Miley is historically a country-based singer. You do not see Taylor Swift jumping into a sex kitten costume and dancing around a zoo, and she is just as successful if not more so (by the way, let's not forget that Miley Cyrus' career was jump-started thanks to the help of her famous father.. TSwift made her claim to fame alone..). The main problem that people have with this video is the effect it will have on Miley's fan-base. While Miley may believe she is old enough to become publicly sexual, she is catering to elementary age girls. As a role model for these girls, Miley may have just inadvertently corrupted the entire youth of society. Second grade girls are not ready to see Miley Cyrus dance half naked on stage while gyrating to awful lyrics ("I go through guys like money flying out the hands"?!). Also, this video compromises the validity of Miley Cyrus' career as an artist. She is no longer a musical artist.. She is a businesswoman who will do anything to sell herself. Like I previously said, she is a historically country-based singer. It was quoted that she didn't even like her huge hit "Party in the U.S.A." and couldn't even name a song by Jay-Z. She needs to be a respectable artist who actually enjoys the songs she sings. This video can be used to conclude that Miley is not longer doing this because she enjoys it.. it has become about nothing more than the money.
