Mike Tyson neck surgery went great; he will fully recover in 3 weeks
Mike Tyson is recovering following a neck surgery. Can you believe a man like him being hurt? We can’t. But the boxer showed up in public to a media event in Vegas sporting a neck brace.
If we judge from the photo above, the brace tells us it was a pretty serious surgery. It looks like the former champ had titanium pins put in his neck to add support to a degenerative disk. That doesn’t sound too good.
“Its a very common surgery, especially for athletes”, his representative said. Maybe he’s right, but the gnarly scar on his neck doesn’t convince us.
His representative insisted, Mike would be just fine in less than a month. “He feels great … just has to wear the neck brace to keep everything stable for the next 3 weeks”, he said.
After these three weeks, Mike will be able to return to his usual activities.
Mike holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF heavyweight titles. He was famous for his intimidating boxing style as well as his controversial behavior both inside and outside the ring. He was also famous for biting off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear during a fight in 1997.
In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington and sentenced to six years in prison but was released after serving three years.
Tyson has been legally married three times and has eight children (including the deceased daughter Exodus) with several different women.
