Once again we can be proud of our First Lady! She knows how to dress for important events. For The Obama White House’s first State Dinner,  Michelle Obama has chosen an elegant, Indian-inspired frock crafted by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan. Clever choice, since among the guests of honor were the Prime Minister Manmohan Singhand and his wife, Gursharan Kaur who remarked Michelle's appropriate outfit.
Naeem Khan is the lucky designer to create for The Oval Office’s leading lady. In an interview with The Washington Examiner, he described Michelle's dress as "very modern, but based on Indian fabrication". "The sari is a big player in the whole game and the colors. Just to twist a little bit of the old way of dressing into the modern is the classy way of doing Indian. I wish a lot of people will do that", Khan added.
