Melissa Gilbert hospitalized
Melissa Gilbert hospitalized over a head injury that occurred on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Monday. The 47-year-old ‘Little House on the Prairie’ actress was taken to the hospital during the show.
“If you’re wondering why Melissa and Maks are not here, she injured herself and as a precaution, has gone to the hospital to get it checked out”, host Tom Bergeron explained the situation.
“She hit her head during her dance, and then after she felt a little dizzy so they took her to the hospital just to get checked out and make sure she was okay. I think she’ll be all right, though”, Sherri Shepherd gave more information.
Karina Smirnoff revealed that Gavin DeGraw carried Melissa Gilbert to the red room. “After that, the show kept going and we had to dance”, Smirnoff added.
Later, the actress herself gave information about her condition. “I’m all right. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of”, she wrote on Twitter. So far no word on whether she’ll be back on the show or not. But she will probably be back.
The actress and her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy earned 22/30 points for their paso doble in what judge Bruno Tonioli called her “best performance by far”.
The remaining contestants on Dancing With the Stars 14th season include Gavin DeGraw, William Levy, Gladys Knight, Maria Menounos, Sherri Shepherd, Donald Driver, Roshon Fegan, Melissa Gilbert, Katherine Jenkins and Jaleel White.
