Larry King might not be divorcing his wife for the moment, but he’s leaving his program ‘Larry King Live’.
According to a statement the 76-year-old King made on Tuesday, he quits the show after 25 years.
“I’m looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it’s time to hang up my nightly suspenders”, he said hinting that he wants to spend more time with his family.
But this is not a fully retirement for the veteran journalist. He’s still going to appear on the network in occasional specials. “Larry King defined the art of the television interview. Having conducted nearly 50,000 interviews over 50-plus years in broadcasting, Larry deserves to take some time for himself and his family”, CNN also said in a statement.
Meanwhile King is trying to save his marriage to 50-year-old seventh wife Shawn with whom he has two sons.
