Kathryn Grayson died Wednesday at her Los Angeles home. According to her longtime companion and secretary, Sally Sherman the actress died of natural causes. She was 88 years old. “She was a lady of class and quality, with the greatest sense of humour conceivable”, Sherman said.
Kathryn Grayson was best known from MGM musicals of the 1940s and 1950s including ‘Anchors Aweigh’, ‘Show Boat’, ‘The Desert Song’ and ‘Kiss Me Kate’. Her male co-stars during her time at the studio included Howard Keel, Gene Kelly, Mario Lanza and Frank Sinatra.
The actress’ biggest dream was to sing opera, but she will accomplish her dream after her movie career ended.
