After seven years, Kate Winslet and husband Sam Mendes' marriage is over, People reports.

 "Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children", their lawyer said in a statement.
The couple met in 2001 when Mendes asked Winslet to star in two of his stage productions, but she turned him down. Then they got married in 2003. They have a 6 years old son, Jon together. 34 years old Winslet also has a daughter, Mia, 9, from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton.
Winslet and Mendez are both Oscar winners: she won the Best Actress award in 2009 for 'The Reader' after five previous nominations, while he was named Best Director in 2000 for 'American Beauty'. Previously, 44 years old Sam Mendes had been linked to actresses Calista Flockhart and Rachel Weisz.
