Here comes the emotional royal! Kate Middleton visited the Tower of London at an event that honored fallen World War I soldiers on the 100th anniversary of the British Commonwealth’s declaration of war on Germany. During the event, The Duchess of Cambridge got so emotional she shed a tear. She was seen wiping away her tear while looking very touched.
Kate was joined by her husband, Prince William and her brother-in-law, Prince Harry. Kate wore a blue L.K. Bennett “Detroit Dress” for the event. Both Princes Harry and William wore navy blue suits for the occasion.
Kate’s dress contrasted against the hundreds of thousands of red ceramic poppies honoring the dead. According to us Weekly, “The art installation, dubbed “Blood Swept Lands And Seas of Red” is comprised of nearly 120,000 ceramic poppies. The sweeping red landscape is expected to be completed by November, where 888,246 flowers in total will be planted each handmade poppy signifying British soldiers and civilians killed in the war”.
