Justin Bieber mother writes memoir about her youth

Justin Bieber‘s mother is ready to tell the world the truth about her life. 36-year-old Pattie Mallette opens up in her memoir titled ‘Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom’.

In the book, Mallette talks about her life surrounded by alcoholism, sexual abuse, and violence.

She lost her virginity at age 15 and became pregnant at 17. Mallette raised Justin as a single mother.  At some point, Mallette attempted suicide after suffering years of alleged sexual abuse by friends and neighbors.

Malette wrote the book in order to help inspire other young women to be strong.

As for having Justin, Malette said she couldn’t abort. “I just knew I had to keep him. I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I just knew that I couldn’t abort. I had to do my best. I had to see what I could do and I was determined to do whatever it took”, she told in an interview with Kathy Lee Gifford on the Today show Tuesday, September 18.
