Johnny Depp Defends The West Memphis Three on '48 Hours Mystery'!

After he declared that Roman Polanski "is not a predator" (although he raped a 13 year old girl), Johnny Depp makes another legal judgement. He is defending three convicted murderers known as "The West Memphis Three". They are the murders of three 8 year old children in the Robin Hood Hills area of West Memphis, Arkansas in 1993. The teenagers were thought to have committed the crimes because of some kind of satanic urges/rituals. 

Now Johnny Depp takes up the cause of the West Memphis Three. And this is not all: he will even appear on Sunday’s '48 Hours Mystery' in his try to reopen it. The reason? Besides the fact that he probably thinks that being "the sexiest man alive" allows him to do what ever he wants, Depp thinks the three murderers never got a fair trial. What about the three children? Did they have a chance to defend themselves? Who's going to "reopen" their case and bring them to life? Not Johnny Depp!
Anyway, Depp is not the only one "playing" with the law. He joins Eddie Vedder, Metallica, Winona Ryder and the Dixie Chicks who also believe the three murderers should be free. “I firmly believe Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley are totally innocent. It was a need for swift justice to placate the community. Damien Echols is on death row to be killed by lethal injection”, Depp says in '48 Hours'.

Based on everything I've read and seen about this particular crime, I believe Depp is correct in his belief that the convicted men are innocent.

I have followed this case for many years. There was NO evidence that pointed to the accused. the one piece of fiber that was found was a black, or dark blue piece of cotton string that matched fibers in the victims houses, as well as the accused. Many of the wounds which were thought to be caused during the murders were actually animal predation. The newest piece of evidence that has been found was a hair that was tied into the laces that tied the boys up. The hair has been linked to a friend of the step-father of Stevie Branch. The "confession" was given by a boy with an IQ of 72. He was locked in the interview room for over 10 hours...only 17 minutes of this was recorded. He repeatedly asked for his mom, and according to Arkansas State Law, as a minor, they should have stopped the interview and allowed his mom to see him. Read about Mr. BoJangles. He was a man covered in blood and mud that was seen walking out of the same forest the boys were found. He went into the girls bathroom, wiped himself off and left. The manager of the restaurant called the police, who went through the drive through because it was not her jurisdiction. When someone finally came, they said the bloody towels was probably nothing, but sent some off the forensics lab in Little Rock to be tested. the samples were never recorded and not labeled according to procedure and according to West Memphis Police, were lost. this trial was not fair from the beginning. Learn a little bit more about the case before you start spouting off your self-righteous bullshit.

Why do you assume that Johnny Depp is only participating in the fight to free the West Memphis 3 because he is the "sexiest man alive" and supposedly he thinks he can do whatever he wants? What about the thousands of other people who are just average Joe's doing everything in THEIR power to help? Johnny Depp isn't the first to do a televised interview on behalf of the cause, yet because he is a celebrity that's all you focus on. Maybe you're just easily star struck but I see him as just another person who has been given all the facts and is smart enough to know they don't add up. The West Memphis 3 are blatantly innocent and I agree with John, who just posted "Learn a little bit more about the case before you start spouting off your self-righteous bullshit." Well said. And you can start by asking yourself, "Why is there a bite mark on one of the victims that doesn't match the bite impressions of any of the 3 accused? Yet Jessie Misskelley's so-called "confession", which was taken as the gospel truth that condemned the defendants, never mentioned a fourth killer. Let's not forget the fact that the first time Jessie gave his confession he stated that the murder happened in the early afternoon (while the victims were still in school, and very much alive) but the police said he was confused and coached him along until he gave them the time they wanted to hear, the time of death.

What an idiot. Evidence points to the stepfather of one of the children, who had connections with the investigating police force. The real culprit is a justice system that would allow implication (on the basis of Echols, who wore a Metallica t-shirt and a forced confession from Jesse Misskelly who has an IQ that almost qualifies him as mentally retarded) to pass for justice. I still cannot believe that these guys are still locked up! But then again, all I have to do to be reminded why is to read crap like this post. What an idiot.

Just because you don't like Johnny Depp does NOT mean you know anything about the West Memphis 3 or the Robin Hood Hills murders. Obviously you are ignorant on this subject, or you would NOT have written such a profoundly stupid blog about Depp's stance. One of the worst handled cases in our country's history, and idiots like you support it because of your ignorance. Try reading up a bit before you run your mouth.
