Following her Saturday arrest, ‘Melrose Place’ actress, Heather Locklear was charged for hitting a no-parking sign on a public street and leaving the scene without notifying anyone.
It looks like she could even face some jail time. The actress is already on probation for driving under influence back in 2008. “If it’s found she’s in violation of her probation, she could be facing a maximum of 90 days in custody”, Santa Barbara Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter said. “While Locklear was technically arrested, she was not handcuffed or taken to a station because it was just a misdemeanor charge. She was cooperative, but I can’t give any information about any statements she made. She was cited and released. She signed a document stating she would make a court appearance”, Bonfiglio says.
At the same time, Locklear’s attorney Blair Berk says the actress can’t face jail. “Ms. Locklear was cited with a misdemeanor traffic ticket as she is the registered owner of the vehicle. She was never taken into custody. The matter is still being looked into as it is not yet clear who was driving the vehicle”, he said.
Nobody was injured in the accident. Locklear’s court date is set for May 17.
