Great Gatsby trailer 2012 is out
The trailer for ‘The Great Gatsby‘ is out. The movie is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Long Island-set novel, where Midwesterner Nick Carraway is lured into the lavish world of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby.
Soon enough, however, Carraway will see through the cracks of Gatsby’s luxurious existence, where obsession, madness, and tragedy await.
The movie is directed by Baz Luhrmann and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby and Tobey Maguire as Nick Carraway. Carey Mulligan and Isla Fisher also appear in the movie.
Is this Di Caprio’s newest chance for an Oscar? The 37-year-old actor has been nominated three times for an Oscar: for 1993′s ‘ What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’, for 2004′s ‘The Aviator’ and 2006′s ‘Blood Diamond’.
Judging from the trailer, the movie may get a few nominations at the Oscar. The best movie? Maybe not. But Carey Mulligan is just great as always. So she may receive a nod for Best Supporting Actress. Leo could definitely earn a nomination for his role. Who else could really play Gatsby amongst today’s actors?
It’s probably not as good as people would expect it to be, but it can’t be that bad with Leo and Carey in it.
