The two of them have known each other for many years, ever since Gerard worked with Guy Ritchie on 'RocknRolla'. Guy and Madonna were still together back then. But they are not together anymore, so Gerard getting cozy with Madonna doesn't count as stealing Guy's woman. Just Jesus' woman, but he would be pleased to have some time for himself.

Anyway, the story begins with Gerard and Madonna being already friendly with each other.

According to Hollywood Life, on Sunday at The Oscars, Madonna and Gerard “were all over each other” during the after-party threw by Madonna herself, Demi Moore and producer Guy Oseary. Apparently, Madonna was “putting on the full-court press, totally charming him and even challenged him to a dance-off! They were grinding in the middle of the room real close and then Demi joined in. It was hot! ” while Gerard was “loving the attention”, says one eyewitness. “They were so cute. After they got off the dance floor they ran to take their picture together in a photo booth”, the same source added.
So who knows what happened after that between 51 years old Madonna and 40 years old Gerard!? He is not the kind of man to waste an opportunity to sleep with a woman, especially when it becomes obviously that she wants too, but with Madonna?
