Dennis Rodman officially divorced. The basketball player is officially a single man after he finally signed his wife’s divorce papers .
It took Dennis 8 years to sign, but he did it at least. Dennis’ wife Michelle Rodman filed for divorce in 2004, but the former player didn’t agree with the divorce at the time. In 2012, Michelle filed for divorce again after the couple failed to reconcile.
Thanks God for Michelle that Dennis has finally decided to sign off on the split.
As for the financial issue, according to TMZ, the two have still to work out the $800,000 in back child support Dennis allegedly owes. Dennis could face 20 days in prison if he does not make payments by May 29, 2012.
Dennis met Michelle in 1999. The two were married in in 2003 on his 42nd birthday. The couple shares two children: 11-year-old son D.J. and 10-year-old daughter Trinity.
Previously, Dennis Rodman was married to Annie Bakes from September 1992 until December 1993. The two have a daughter Alexis. In November 1998, Dennis married model Carmen Electra, but they divorced in April 1999. He also had an affair with Madonna.
Over the years, 49-year-old Dennis Rodman faced several personal and health issues. He attempted suicide in 1993, he dyed his hair in artificial colors, presented himself with many piercings and tattoos and disrupted games by clashing with opposing players and officials. He entered rehab a few times and he was arrested for domestic violence during his marriages.
During his career, Dennis Rodman played for the NBA, Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. Rodman earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors seven times and was voted NBA Defensive Player of the Year twice. He also led the NBA in rebounds per game for a record seven consecutive years. He won five NBA championships. On April 1, 2011, the Pistons retired Rodman’s #10 jersey.
