Chris Brown wants to pay for his freedom
Chris Brown was sentenced to stay in jail until April 23. That’s because he broke one man’s nose and, by doing that, he violated his probation in the Rihanna case that could land him in prison for 4 years. A trial was set for April 17.
Chris was arrested on March 14 right after he was booted from rehab for violating three internal rules at the facility. For example, the rapper broke the rule of staying at least 2 feet away from every woman in the facility. He was seen touching a woman’s elbow and hands. Staying in rehab was a requirement of the judge pending his trial in D.C. next month for assault.
So he was arrested until April 23.
But here’s the deal. Chris may get out of jail if he pays lots of money.
According to TMZ, Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, has contacted the lawyer for the man who claims Chris assaulted him in D.C., breaking his nose, and offered him money. Geragos is gunning for a civil settlement. That means the broken nose guy would tell prosecutors he no longer has an interest in pursuing the criminal case. In that case, the prosecutors will drop the criminal assault case. Money can buy freedom.
