Catherine Zeta-Jones Caught Smoking!

We all thought that Catherine Zeta-Jones quit smoking after her husband Michael Douglas discovered his throat cancer.

But she hasn’t! Or maybe she’s just an occasional smoker. The kind of person who smokes to clam her nerves.

But one thing is for sure. The actress was caught smoking in Central Park yesterday. “Catherine Zeta-Jones swiftly dumps a cigarette in a pile of dry leaves after realising photographers are in Central Park. Catherine’s husband Michael Douglas is currently recovering from chemotherphy and radiotherapy treatments for stage IV throat cancer”, PCN wrote.
But let’s not judge her, the woman is obviously going through a hard time.

NO EXCUSES FOR SUCH STUPIDITY! Having a mother who is still a cigarette smoker as your father is recooperating from throat cancer. Unconscienable.

Amazing! Pretends to be a poster woman for the Mother of the Year Award. The litigious one has an orchestrated PR machine to be proud of! Despite smoking during pregnancy, despite the spouse's cancer, she sneaks one, throws it alight in dry leaves when the media spot her. Just read Hucknall's apology. She was one of the 1000 conquests. Like the ciggie, she threw the young Lothario knowing nothing would come out of it, and moved on to the older one on the wane. Before her expiration date, she managed to snag him and stake her claim with her insurance--the two kids. Now the old one is sadly living on borrowed time, and she will be heir apparent. The selfishness is so apparent, she cannot be a good role model for her children. I totally am ticked off to see her labeled a good parent. Women suffer all over the world to raise children without hired help, luxuries of chauffeurs, cooks, and elite homes. They set great examples by walking the talk. This hollow chick is lauded, just because of her PR.

Hard time, seriously? This broad chartered a plane to be a single passenger so she could smoke with no objections! Maybe she needed to calm her nerves.

What's amazing is that anyone thinks her smoking is anyone else's business or that there even should be any judgement passed on it (even regardless of her husband's private situation). Good gosh, what world we've devolved into when there's this intolerant gasp over....gasp... smoking. Mind your own businesses and find something else to be puritans over. Catherine, you don't need anyone's permission or approval to engage in an adult legal activity. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

@Audrey, these are not judgments you see. It is the hyporcritical sanctimony. They critcized Angelina and Brad as if they were lecturing from a moral pulpit. Ms.Jones acts like the wife and mother of the year. unlike oscar and tonys which can be bought, these titles have to be earned. Even with a dev disabled child, she smoked heavily while pregnant. Now we are talking two lives, maybe even three with second hand smoke. After leading a fast and loose life, she settled into comfort and luxury. She sneakily threw the killer stick but the photogs caught her before. Humbug!

Smokes like a chimney and then blames the doctors for not finding the cancer. Lack of common sense. So sad for their kids... How about e-cig Ms Jones?

It isn't hypocracy or preaching to simply say to Ms. Jones 'shame on you.' ANY smoker qualifies as a self-absorbed, inconsiderate bore. Screw 'smoker's rights' and legal jingles; this is an issue of having respect for yourself, the people you claim to love and the world in which you live.

Oh, Catherine! You can do better than that! Smoking while pregnant, smoking while your husband has cancer from smoking and so forth. You take pride in being a strong and determined woman, let's see you be the same about NOT smoking.

She's an adult and last I checked smoking is not illegal. She should try going to e-cigs though as they only have nicotine and no other harmful chemicals. Smoking doesn't make someone a bad parent and she is smoking outdoors. There are plenty of parents who consume alcohol, so does that make them all bad parents? Or is it just more socially acceptable to drink then smoke?

In the end, everybody has to take responsibility for being a smoker to begin with and/or deciding to quit the habit. But doesn't it make you angry that tobacco producers become rich over our dead bodies and have so much pull with American politics? Most people start smoking in their teens before their brains have grown in all the way and spend the rest of their lives trying to quit. My 69 year old husband had smoked from the time he was 15 into his mid-30s. By the time he decided to quit for religious reasons, he smoked 4 packs a day. I don't think he would be alive and healthy today if he hadn't stopped. He said it was the hardest thing he ever did. Anyone can stop if they are motivated enough.

While she probably shouldn't be smoking, people here are WAY over-reacting. Quitting smoking is an incredibly difficult thing to do. I think it would be particularly hard when you are raising two children and caring for your sick husband, while suffering from bipolar disorder yourself. Loads of people are good parents and smoker. Not every is Holly Marie Combs and can just stop smoking all of a sudden.
