2013 Super Bowl Alicia Keys gives flawless version of National Anthem

Alicia Keys performed the National Anthem at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome before Super Bowl XLVII on February 3. Her performance was wonderful. The mother-of-one took the stage in New Orleans wearing a red, floor-length, fishtail gown, but what attired our attention was her musical style.

The 32-year-old Grammy winner did a bluesy version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’, accompanying herself on a stately silver piano.

Before the Super Bowl Alicia confessed her excitement to perform on such big event. “I’m really excited about it, I can’t even lie. I have to rehearse it totally as if it’s a brand new song, because it is actually a brand new song in the style that I’ll deliver it. I’m rehearsing like a maniac”, she told MSN Entertainment before the big event.

One day before the Super Bowl, Alicia took Twitter to reveal she was in full pre-show prep mode. “The energy is so amazing! You can feel it all over! I feel excited in a way I’m not sure I ever have! Can’t wait!!” she wrote.
